Hey all, this is a super cool opportunity you should check out. SAIC Creative Coding team – ?

Hi Cris,

Me and Peng want to participate this hackathon but we think we need a
engineer or a coder. Do you have recommendations?

Furthermore I have a problem on touchdesinger. I want connect the Nvidia
Flex to Touchdesinger, I already search on the github but still not
working. Can you help me solve this problem. Thanks a lot. Have a good day.

Best,
Tony Huang.

Hey @xiaoyuanhuang - you all are coders! Perhaps others from class like @amoz or @cmarti14 might be interested? Or perhaps @amaykataria or @aperry2 or another grad student would want to join you?

Regardless, you should still participate, as I think you would learn a lot and may be able to join another team if you can’t find enough people from SAIC.

Regarding the other TouchDesigner problem – please start a discussion thread and add a bit more information about what you’ve tried.

Hi all, one student pointed out that it is not clear how you are supposed to register (the link doesn’t have a clear place to register on the page …).

I’ve emailed the contact at Bosch and will post any clarifications here.

Hello all, I skimmed through the technologies that Bosch is providing for this hackathon. From what I understand, the participants need to look at the problem statement and propose systems using these technologies (XDK and Arity APIs) to solve such problems. Here’s a quick summary of what they have.

XDK - A smart wireless device that has bunch of sensors like microphone, environmental, acceleration, geomagnetic, ambient light sensor, etc. One can use this device to collect data and run predictive analysis, create visualizations or build platforms that can aid in solving the problems. It’s hardware manual is extremely helpful to understand the capabilities of this device.

Arity APIs - Three of the problems out of 4 will require the use of these APIs to propose solutions. These are mobility APIs that can help find information about accidents, traffic, and movement patterns at certain locations in the city. Using the development portal to run the API was helpful to see what kind of data you can query. Here’s an example to get risk data for Chicago’s Lake Shore drive using their API.

It’d be good to understand the capabilities of these technologies and propose how we could use these to solve some of the problems they have defined on their website.

I would like to take part in this if anyone else is interested too.

So, bad news folks. Here is the response I got from Bosch this morning:

Thank you for reaching out. The link that you had was correct, but we had to close the registration as we are at capacity. Thank you very much for your support and interest from your students to attend our event. We have received very good traction from SAIC. Should any spot become available, I will let you know asap.

If anybody interested, I have been registrated, but im not going to
participate. u can take my spot if u want.
