CCAM x ESS: Intro to Microsound: Gen~ in MaxMSP taught by Garrett Laroy Johnson

Hello all,

As a collaboration between CCAM, the Center for Concrete and Abstract Machines, and ESS, the Experimental Sound Studio (both organizations involving many ATSP faculty), I am teaching a four-session introduction to Curtis Road’s concept of Microsound using gen~.

Sign up here: Intro to Microsound: 4-part Max/MSP Gen~ course : Experimental Sound Studio
Thursdays in February and March from 6pm - 8pm.

Gen~ is an extremely powerful programming language that allows you to write algorithms performed at the level of a single sample of audio (so, up to 192,000 times per second!).

By the end, we will explore Gen~ in multi-channel approaches, as well as the really incredible possibility of putting Gen~ code onto a hardware microcontroller.
