The Ph.D. in Critical Game Design, which was launched in 2021, is designed to train scholar-practitioners deeply versed in game production, game studies, and scholarly writing and research. This degree program is a hybrid theory and practice program that immerses students in the game studies literature; feminist, queer, and critical race critiques of games and design; game design principles; and topical concentrations on the social and structural issues surrounding digital/analog games and interactive media commensurate with the student’s research area. Students are prepared to continue their research in both academia and the broader games industry. More information can be found at: https://hass.rpi.edu/gsas/critical-game-design-0
