D.R.E.A.M. (Data Rules Everything Around Me)

hey yawwwl! wanted to invite everyone to D.R.E.A.M. (Data Rules Everything Around Me) a FREE+OPEN monthly series launching this Thursday!

this is NOT a lecture series, but a conversation series (think of it as an extended Q&A session) devoted to discussing digital issues (data mining, surveillance, decentralization, broadband access, ethics in AI +more) with a different featured speaker each month. Featured writers, artists, hackers, developers, activists and other cultural producers are invited to share their research and perspectives on the data that fuels the systems that run our world.

our first event is this Thursday 7pm at ICNC/MakeCity 320 N Damen Ave
our first speaker is Artist/Researcher Becca Ricks, ITP grad and Mozilla Fellow. her work’s rad (here’s her ITP grad talk in case u’re curious). she’s done a lot of work around corporate surveillance + data mining + algorithmic manipulation + etc.
