USA
7:00 PM
Join us on 4/12/2024 at 7:00 pm for an evening of experimental community and multimedia theater at the International Museum of Surgical Science. Exploring bodies, minds, and perceptions, //sense activates the museum space through an intermix of media, technology, and performances. By transforming the space into an inviting, immersive, and interactive space, leading artists blur the boundaries between audiences and performers with socially engaging works, actions, and happenings.
Amidst global anxiety on warfare and past collective trauma, we transcend media tools and simple actions into medicine that heals, restores, and rejuvenates humanity through a decentralized artmaking process.
Experimental Sound Studio will premiere this production on 5/25/24 (Sat) at 7:00 pm on their YouTube channel.
This event is part of the IMSS Multidisciplinary Recovery Series, which is partially supported by a Chicago Arts Recovery Program grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events.

About the Curator:
Gordon Fung (b. 1988, San Francisco) is a transdisciplinary artist-curator who works with large-scale curatorial practices, experimental audiovisual performances, new media installations, noise music, experimental film/video, and media archaeology.
Inspired by the unique Chicago video/media arts lineage and collectivity in Fluxus, Gordon forms and directs the experimental time-based arts collective //sense to showcase large-scale experimental community theater performances, exhibitions, and screenings. Counteracting the marginalization of experimental time-based arts, he curates and fosters a collaborative common ground for sound, video, performance, and media artists to create gesamtkunstwerk through synergy.
