Open call at Lightwriters Neon (neon, and non-neon work both accepted!)

Hello!

For those who don’t know a new neon studio, and gallery has recently opened up in Ravesnwood by the name of Lightwriters Neon! It is a phenomenally illuminated place to be, and fortunately we are hosting an open call for a show curated by me (Tri)!

Us at Lightwriters are happy to announce that we are hosting an open call for an upcoming exhibition in our gallery space! This show will open February 1st, 2025, and will run until early March 2025. We are currently looking for bodies of work from American queer artists that reflect upon a queer identity told either through images of the self, abstraction, and or images that reflect queer culture. If you have work that tells us about your experience in queerdom: we want to see it.

That being said, we are currently looking to prioritize artists from Gen X, and Boomer demographics to help reach our goal of an intergenerational queer show. Younger demographics are still welcome to apply though!

We also possess a strong preference for neon, and glass work as this space is dedicated to a love of such works, but we are open to other work as well! Don’t be afraid to submit, because your work may be the work that fills in the story we want to tell.

We won’t be able to take every work that is submitted, but all work will be considered! If you’re interested please make sure you fill out all the guidelines below.

Best wishes,
