Art + Design Curator of Exhibits position open in NEIU for the Fine Arts Center Gallery
The position, although listed as half-time (20 hours), is about 18.50 hours per week, totally autonomous position with the exception of working with the dept. chair on a few things like budget and purchasing, about six shows per year and two of those are the student juried show and the faculty/or alumni show (these alternate). You really make your own schedule and do not need to be on campus for all hours in the position (we know that a lot happens behind the scenes). There are student gallery aides during the week and we ask that the curator be there for artist talk and openings for sure, but really one can work the hours how they see fit and according to the gallery needs.
