What: https://www.facebook.com/events/238729780009248/
When: Thursday 4/26 4:15-7 (talks scheduled for 6)
Where: 1st floor sharp
Who: Open to public
Why: The Asian and Pacific-Islander Heritage Month comes to fruition with the collaboration between the Asian and Asian American Students at SAIC (AAASS) and ExTV. This exciting one-day event will start off with a screening featuring 10-15 unique films, videos and new media works discussing a wide range of political, social, cultural issues on API identity by SAIC students and faculty. The screening will be followed by a dinner and 15-minute presentations by 2 guest faculty speakers who will share knowledge and research based on their media based practices. Not only will this serve as a great opportunity to share culture through the food served at the dinner, but it will also provide a open platform to discuss topics concerning API identity. Through this event we will celebrate the diverse and multifaceted narratives within Asian and Asian American identities.
