The Global Live Project: Connecting Three Cities brings together students from Chicago, Birmingham, and Kyiv

Hi there!

I’m Jackie Vu, co-president of Design Development Collective, a joint student organization between SAIC and UChicago. I have some good news for you!

We’re hosting a collaboration project opportunity, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

The Global Live Project: Connecting Three Cities brings together students from Chicago, Birmingham, and Kyiv to explore one big question: What makes a home? Through art and technology, we’ll create interactive experiences that bring our ideas to life across different cultures, perspectives, and mediums.

We’re hosting an info session to share more details, and we’d love for you to join:

:date: Date & Time: Wednesday, February 19th, 3 PM CST
:round_pushpin: Location: Online (link to be shared)
:link: RSVP here: RSVP Global Live Project: Connecting three cities Chicago | Birmingham | Kyiv

This project is a collaboration between students at:

Chicago – Design Development Collective (SAIC & UChicago)
Birmingham – Birmingham City University
Kyiv – Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design
Together, we’ll explore what “home” means—whether it’s a structure, a place, a feeling, or something else entirely. The project will be student-driven, with opportunities to create a physical installation, a virtual environment, or something entirely new. We’ll be using Figma for collaboration and wrapping up with a real-time event in May 2025 that could take the form of a virtual gallery, a performance, or an interactive installation.

Key Dates
:rocket: Launch Day: Monday, March 3rd, 2025
:performing_arts: Final Event: Week of May 5th, 2025

If you’re curious, excited, or just want to learn more, join us for the info session! This is a chance to collaborate globally, push creative boundaries, and build something meaningful together.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Best,
Jackie.
