THIS FRIDAY 8pm: [we don't know yet] what a cinema can do: a night of moving image and live sound

[We Don’t Know Yet] What a Cinema Can Do is a special event of the ONION CITY EXPERIMENTAL FILM FESTIVAL organized and curated by CCAM: The Center for Concrete and Abstract Machines..

Some of our own faculty and staff are in the mix of a night of expanded cinema at public works gallery @publicworksgallery in Wicker Park.

Get your tickets here.

Please note that tickets must be purchased on the Onion City website here. If you arrive without a ticket, you’ll need to buy on your phone. We’re encouraging people to buy ahead of time to avoid a bottle neck at the door.

8PM // Doors + Installations:

Luciana Decker Orozco @lucianadeckerorozco

Kristin McWharter @kristinmcwharter

Andrew Wood @wood.andrewj

830PM Performances:

Alan Perry @alanjperry

Hunter Whitaker-Morrow @cazzador

Ruby Que @rubyq.ue

Liyan Zhao @liyanimal

We received over 60 submissions for this show. Their strengths made it no doubt tough selecting our final lineup. The committee believes these seven artists both renew the 1970s call for what expanded cinema could be and reinvest in the genre in a modern context.
