IKO group: Post-Fossil futures- a speculative workshop

Thursday 20th
Flex Space 4th floor
4.15-5.45 pm

What will the future of artistic work look like when we run out of oil? What does the role of art in society look like in the post fossil age? How will our work and ways of working need to be rethought? Join us for a mutual speculation.

The IKO group will offer a brief outlook into emerging Finnish theory on the subject. We want to share the knowledge in a performative/participatory act. Let’s look into the unknown and share our thoughts.

Our talk will be drawing from our education at TEAK Theatre Academy in Helsinki, Finland, where research and many courses, such as Dramaturgy and Ecology in 2014, are dealing with these subjects. This year a new international master’s program called MA in Ecology and Contemporary Performance (MAECP) piloted with the sole focus on the on-going ecological crisis and how it shapes our ways of working with art and performance.
