What: Lecture by VR pioneer Dan Sandin

Where: ATS Flex Space, room 400 (112 S. Michigan)

When: Thursday, October 20th, from 6 to 7 pm (including questions)

Title: What is VR and what is it good for?

Abstract: VR is a new medium of expression and is a new form of human-computer interface. Dan will define VR and discuss the affordances and limitation of the media through VR examples from science and art. With students and faculty of the Electronic Visualization Laboratory at UIC, Dan has been involved in developing VR displays and VR content for art and science for the last 25 years.
