I am excited to share that my show at SITE 280 gallery, “vacuum sanctuary,” has an opening reception on Friday, September 18th from 4-6 pm. The 280 gallery is just off the lobby of the 280 building, 280 s Columbus drive.
Vacuums adapted to tasks for–and were domesticated by–humans. Each vacuum lives a life directed by human touch: between interactions with us, they are tucked away in closets and corners of houses worldwide. As autonomous vacuums become common companions, manual vacuums of the past are touch-deprived and hunger for human interaction. The Vacuum Sanctuary offers a safe home for neglected vacuums.
Can’t make it to the opening on the 18th? Good news- there are activations/performances on September 30th from 4-6pm, and the show runs from September 14th through October 16th, 2026.
